What are you looking for in a new RV? Poll results show....

You have spoken and the RV makers have heard you! According to a recent RV consumer poll there are some sought after features you're looking for in a new RV and Paul Evert's RV just happens to have them in stock!

#1 - Larger kitchen counter tops!
While the sink covers are helpful, RV consumers are looking for a little something more.

The Keystone Montana High Country isn't only state of the art when it comes to weight, look at all that counter space pictured above!
The Keystone Outback Sydney Edition 325FRE (Pictured above) again shows that not all counter tops are created equal.
Monaco Coach makes the most of the counter space in their luxury motorhomes by including a pull out counter, solid sink covers, and stove covers.

#2 - Larger showers!
With all of the sprawling floorplans offered, some manufacturers are sure to not forget the spacious bathroom.

Thor Motorcoach is ensuring your comfort by installing a 24" x 40" shower in the Challenger 32VS.

While still trying to minimize space, the new A.C.E. by Thor Motorcoach is installing curved shower curtain rods to allow for extra shoulder room.

Various floorplans in Montana by Keystone RV can include a spacious 36" garden tub/shower with an adjustable height shower head, molded shelves, and a wash cloth holder.

#3 - Residential sized beds!
This one makes a lot of sense, replacing a mattress or buying linens is much easier without a specialty sized bed.  Paul Evert's RV Country carries several brands and models that now offer this feature.

Both Monaco RV and Tiffin Motorhomes offer residential sized Select Comfort beds.

Every Keystone Montana offers full sized residential King Beds

One reason why we partner with Keystone RV!

At Paul Evert's RV Country, we try hard to have the best quality and largest selection of RV's for our customers to choose from. Over the years, some manufacturers have really exceeded our expectations and Keystone RV is one of those RV manufactures. In fact, they make so many wonderful products that we carry almost every model of travel travel trailer, fifth wheel, and toy hauler that they make! They are made of highest quality while still being affordable, two factors which we're sure help make them a #1 seller in the country.  And as Curt Curtis mentioned in a previous blog, "We're honored to continue our relationship with one of the most forward thinking and innovative fifth wheel, travel trailer, and toy hauler manufacturers in the RV industry!"

As a dealer, we've found that as the economy has changed, the demand for lighter weight vehicles has increased. Keystone RV has responded to this demand with a new line of products they call "High Country". Two of their most popular fifth wheels, Montana and Cougar both use what Keystone RV calls “Helium Technology” to dramatically reduce the vehicle weight. This involved taking a new look at how to build a recreational vehicle as they didn’t approach it from the standpoint of cost, but of which building components were the lightest.

The Montana and Cougar High Country editions are THE ONLY fifth wheels in the industry with TWO slideouts that can be towed by a half ton truck. We both carry and have in stock the Montana and Cougar High Country Fifth Wheels. Please view our current selection on our website www.rvcountry.com

If that's not a good enough reason to love Keystone RV, check out a tidbit of what 2011 holds! Keystone RV is debuting the 10th Anniversary Outback edition to RV enthusiasts!

Improvements to the 10th Anniversary Edition include:
    • Sculptured, automotive-style gel-coat fiberglass front cap has been added to the Outback travel trailer line, replacing the plain Filon-front wall of previous models
    • LED hitch lights have been integrated into the front cap, supplanting less energy efficient incandescent lights
    • Distinctive 10th Anniversary graphics with new stripes and colors replace previous graphics
    • Use of metal arched roof trusses to create a vaulted ceiling throughout the entire length of the coach resulting in a more spacious interior and almost 7-feet of interior height
Wow!!  Click here to check out more!

Best of the Best in 2010! Look at where our partners are on the list!

RV Buddies is proud to announce their choices for the “Best of the Best” RVs for 2010 in both motorized and towables categories.  Paul Evert's RV Country is proud to announce our partnership with almost every one on the list!
The recent shows and new product line-ups are both exciting and revolutionary. And with the RV industry on the upturn – the next decade looks both prosperous and exciting for both the consumer and manufacturer. One thing is certain; the box of yore is gone. New, adventurous designs are showing up and in the wings.
While there are many exceptional designs becoming available, these particular RVs simply stand out unlike any other.
Here are the RV Buddies selections for the “Best of the Best”…
At first glance you can see that this RV is different. It doesn’t have a flashy paint job, but rather a more timeless and classic look. After speaking with the folks at Monaco RV behind this project – it’s clear that there was significant thought to every nut, bolt and screw that went into the design. After three days with this coach it just grows on you more and more. You appreciate the subtle attention to detail and quality
Their slogan “Small is the New Big” is true. They jam-packed a lot of coach into a small package – all in the configuration of a diesel pusher. This short Class A diesel drives, handles and rides like a dream. And it turns on a dime. Stand in line if you want one of these. Tiffin can’t make them fast enough for eager RVers.
Where do we sign? This is a no-brainer purchase. Thor has built a great, small coach packed with features and at an insane price. You can now get a bus-style coach for the price of a Class C RV. And not since the “Winnebago Toaster” has a front cap boasted an “eye brow” protrusion – and it looks GREAT! Explore this coach – and you will. It’s packed with innovation – including the hotel-style shower curtain that extends shoulder room while bathing. Oh, and you can’t over-look all the pet-friendly features, built-in, standard!  See our text review on the site now. A full video review is in edit now.
If you are looking for an amazing fifth wheel – this is it. If you are looking for a motorized RV – don’t look at this. It may be the first towable product you ever consider buying! The upper front living room is amazing – with fireplace and HDTV. (It also converts into a private guest bedroom area.) Below, the spacious kitchen will be a popular gathering place. It even has a proper desk to do some work or write post cards to friends and family from the road. Aft is a walk-through bath with a second entry door. And all the way aft is a private owner’s suite.

Why I think we have the best customers in the world!

By Tami Jennings - Payroll Administrator/Human Resources

I've worked at Paul Evert's RV Country for over 7 years and in many different positions, but customer service has always been right up my alley. I enjoy helping the different customers who call in and visit, but over the years I would call the majority of them more than customers, I would call them my friends!

I've read many letters from customers about how grateful they are for service they have received or the friendliness of the employees. As an employee, I can say first hand how much we appreciate not only the sentiment, but also the time it takes to let us know. However, I wanted to take a second to write back about how pleasant and patient our customers are with us and how much fun it is to visit WITH THEM!
Two couples in particular come to mind for me. They are Don & Joyce Harvey (pictured above) and Howard & Lore Starck. These two couples were just here and were so nice! They waited patiently for their service work to be completed, all the while laughing and joking with all of us. Joyce & Don were so nice as to even take a few of the employees to lunch. We all had a great time and look forward to their return!

I can't think of any other industry or place where such valued and lasting relationships could happen and I'm so grateful to be a part of the family that is Paul Evert's RV Country.

    SCR Technology....we've got you covered

Our sales team recently completed extensive education and training regarding the new 2010 EPA emissions standards.  Here is some information they passed along that could be helpful to our customers!

Q: What is SCR technology and why is it important?
A: SCR technology is simple, clean, reliable and hassle-free. It meets 2010 EPA emissions standards and
improves performance. SCR, or Selective Catalytic Reduction, is the cleanest diesel emissions technology
available. It delivers more horsepower, torque and better fuel economy than other emissions technologies.

Q: Is there an alternative solution available to meet the 2010 EPA requirements?
A: Only one manufacturer is pursuing a divergent path from the rest of the industry, opting to intensify the EGR technology used to reach the EPA 2007 standards, calling it Advanced EGR (AEGR). However, all other motorhome and engine OEMs have selected SCR because of its proven technology and benefits to the RV owner and the environment.

Q: Why are the overwhelming majority of engine, truck and motorhome manufacturers using SCR?
A: Because SCR is a Simple, Clean and Reliable technology:
    • Simple: SCR is built upon existing technology and simply adds a Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) and a catalyst to remove additional particulates and emissions.
    • Clean: SCR technology has been certified by the EPA to meet its new standards.
    • Reliable: Although relatively new to North America, SCR is a proven technology that has been in use in Europe since 2006 with over 600,000 SCR equipped commercial vehicles in service over hundreds of millions of miles. In addition, more than 30 million test miles were run in the U.S. before SCR was released to the market.

Q: Are there other benefits of SCR technology?
A: Yes, many. In addition to meeting 2010 emissions standards, SCR gives you 5 to 8 percent better fuel economy, more torque and more horsepower versus a similarly equipped EPA 2007 engine using EGR technology.

    Do you have your Wingman?

Mr. Jim Macleod just stopped by RV Country, raving about a gadget he bought the last time he was in our parts department. He purchased the Winegard Wingman add on antenna and HE LOVES IT! He says he gets more stations, better clarity, and 100% reception on most channels.

Just thought we'd pass the word on to anyone interested!  Here is some additional information about the Wingman:

Our little spot in the desert...

Part of the Paul Evert's RV Country family is escaping the winter weather at our show in Parker, AZ at the Bluewater Casino. Our managers and sales people live in fifth wheels for the duration of the show.

Life looks pretty good to us! They have a BBQ, weight set, quads, etc. The weather is sunny and blue skies are hard to beat!

Here are the sales guys putting up balloons, which they do every day! It’s really an art. These guys get an assembly line going of who does the string, the helium, the tying, etc…

Tony Russo, our sales manager, is holding the camera, and our sales people Jorge D’Abramo (Green sweater) and Jerry Wight (Red sweater) are kicking back watching the game. Gotta be honest, we're a little jealous. Looks like fun!

Paul Evert's RV attends the 48th Annual National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Ky

If you're in or around the RV industry for long, you'll quickly find out how big of a deal the Annual National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Kentucky is, this year having celebrated it's 48th year. Having spent well over 23 plus years working at Paul Evert's RV Country, I wouldn't miss this show for the world! In fact, I've learned so much and saw so many familiar faces, it's almost impossible to compress these three whirlwind days into a small post, but I'm going to try! Upon reflection a few key things come to mind that I'm excited to share with you!

The new A.C.E. Motorhome by Thor Industries

    • First and foremost is the A.C.E. by Thor Motor Coach. It has a story to tell and after learning about all the features and functionality is has to offer, I knew Paul Evert's RV Country had to have it and that our customers will want it as well! From a "Mud Room" where you can store your dirty shoes to the "Pet-Link" (an exterior tie down for your pets) and "Kibble Station" (an integrated FDA approved food bowl) or a window on the passenger side floor line to give the drive enhanced vision, it's seems like they've thought of everything! Plus, it comes with an overhead electric bed that can be used even while driving similar to a Class C body style. We've placed our orders and can't wait to tell you when they get here! Here is what the industry is saying about the A.C.E.

The Serrano is changing the way people look at motorhomes
Astoria is the diesel pusher with everything at the right price

    • Actually, Thor Motor Coach had a few things that caught my eye. We also took on the diesel pusher, Astoria and the Serrano which is unlike anything we've carried at Paul Evert's RV before. The Serrano is a short 31'-33' low profile diesel class A that gets MEGA miles per gallon!

    • You know, Paul Evert's RV Country partnered with Keystone nearly a decade ago and we couldn't be happier! We're honored to continue our relationship with one of the most forward thinking and innovative fifth wheel, travel trailer, and toy hauler manufacturers in the RV industry! Just a few notes of things to come are new floorplans, amenities, front caps and rooflines, particularly on the Montana and Outback models. Montana will soon be offering a "Big Sky" package which includes 6 point electric jacks, full body paint, larger tires and a rounded shower. Also, the Raptor (Keystone's toy hauler model) will soon feature keyless entry, touchscreen stereos, central vacuum, LED lighting, and the coolest thing - a "Tailgate Package"!

I feel like I've mentioned too much and I've only covered two things! I will just say one more thing: The RV lifestyle isn't just for our customers, we live and love it as well! Even as dealers and vendors, we enjoy the camaraderie of traveling, seeing old friends, making new ones, and socializing. Attending these functions is energizing and exciting and only makes me believe more strongly in such an awesome lifestyle and industry. I take great pride in making new contacts, finding the latest and greatest products, and being able to offer our customers the most varied and innovative selection of motorized and towable recreational vehicles that I possibly can.

If you have any questions or want to know more, we're eager to talk about our trip so shoot us an email or call us or just stop by!

    We look forward to it!

    2007 Country Coach gets modernized!

Have you ever walked into a motorhome and had a flashback from a certain decade? You know, the oranges and greens from the 70's, the pinks and blues from the 80's, etc?!  While that may be an extreme example, we have noticed ourselves thinking: "Some coaches have so much potential if they were just freshened up a bit!"

A few months ago we purchased a 45' 2007 Country Coach, but it just seemed bland inside, and we all know coaches like this can really knock your socks off!
    BEFORE:

    BEFORE:

We called Judee Malanca Designs to help us narrow down a few key things we could do to make this diesel pusher a showpiece! She suggested cabinetry glazing, new valances, new carpet, new cabinetry knobs & handles, a new bedspread and some pretty decorations would do the trick.
     DURING:
    AFTER:

Boy was she right! Take a look at what a small amount of money and a vision can do for modernizing your RV!

Whether you do it yourself or want Paul Evert's RV to help, we'd love to hear from you about your own experiences in coach remodeling.

At Paul Evert’s RV Country we want you to know how much your business is appreciated and feel a part of the camping community, which is why we want you to be more involved! We’d like to hear your stories of how you enjoy the RV lifestyle and each family that shares their story will receive a FREE prize and the winner receives a $100 gift certificate to our parts store! Submit as many different stories as you’d like and be sure to include pictures of your travels! You can submit your stories by clicking here.

To help get you started, we thought we’d share with you how our sales manager Julien Castillo loves to RV. He has a huge group of friends who also love it and they go to many functions in California.

They especially love to tailgate at Raider games. Looks like quite the party! He recently took a Monaco Diplomat and was the envy of everyone who walked by in the rain while he had tents and awnings and flat screen TV’s.

Often, they love to capitalize on how close the Pismo sand dunes are to Fresno. When they go, his little daughter’s favorite spot to hang out is in this Fifth Wheel Toy Haulers entry door, as you can see! His kids bring their quads and race around in the sand and his friends BBQ over an open campfire, but still have someplace warm to sleep. One year they even brought and deep fried a turkey for Thanksgiving out there!

Don’t forget to join our virtual family on Facebook and you can also follow us on Twitter. See you soon!
